I’ll take you back, well as far back as I can remember. There’s always an in-store, pre-party. Our ‘tailgate’ goes a little something like this -hairspray, black eyeliner, stockings, lip gloss, push up bras, bubbly, cheese, grapes and lots of photos. This is all before our party bus dared to pick up this bunch of fiery ladies.
The Willow St. employees were strutting their stuff with high swagger in the streets of NYC Meatpacking district. Valbella definitely made our A list with its sleek atmosphere, scrumptious food and outstanding service. A magnifico ristorante! I know I can speak for the entire lineup by giving endless gratitude to our phenomenal boss, mentor, owner/buyer Lezli for blowing us all away once again. Cheers to another marvelous year dolls! It’s what makes our business fun!’ Her favorite restaurant is Gramercy Tavern! ‘In store designer, tough one, so many, probably J Brand and Ella Moss, do I have to pick?!’ Loves a pump! ‘You know, the ones with the red bottom!’ Her summer drink would be Ketel One vodka on the rocks with a twist! She loves Led Zeppelin! ‘Ray LaMontagne if I want to get in the mood!’ ‘I’m reading Sarah’s Key and I read the NY Times kindle to kindle every day.’ Lezli has been in the Fashion world forever! ‘My father owned 5 clothing stores in Denver, I may have been born in a dressing room. You never know, it’s possible!’ ‘What do I love about Willow St.? I love when a customer leaves feeling so great about herself, comes back and tells me she was the foxiest one at the party! I really love what I do, I really love my employees too. They always give me a reason to smile!’ Lezli just got back from Paris with her husband and their friends. ‘On every European trip I take, I notice more and more how put together Europeans are. Blazers never go out of style. I see skinny jeans everywhere with a sneak of wide legs coming back. Women seem to either be wearing a heel or a converse sneaker. If they have a converse on its always with a blazer or a scarf. Always a touch of class. Paris women are always styled sexy, I love that!’ ‘When I buy for Willow St. I always try to get the most style for the best price. I like to have my store be well rounded covering not only the hottest designers but, items that I know will make my clients feel great. Customer service is always first. Finding designers that work on every body type is a challenge, but I want to have something to offer everyone. I try to buy pieces that cannot be found everywhere. Bottom line I want you to feel like you have arrived in a special place every time you walk in my door! You won’t catch Linda without her Laura Mercier, bare beige lip gloss, Ray-Ban sunglasses and her Big Buddha hobo! Look out!! The method behind her madness.. Her ‘Jewelry Buying’ madness that is. Linda has been with Willow St. for 15 years now, Holy Cow!! She is our jewelry and accessory buyer. Our customers love to accessorize all their outfits, thats the fun part! You will see her at all the NYC shows getting tips on the latest and greatest trends for every season. “I buy what I like and whats trending for the times.” We are always stocked up with Gorjana, Chan Luu and Anna Beck. Linda will also buy funky jewelry from local designers or designers that only sell to boutiques. Some things our customers may not know about Linda… Her favorite designer is Gucci; Her favorite fashion magazine is Elle; Favorite Essie color – Mademoiselle; Fav NYC’s restaurant, Tabla! Likes to listen to all the new music that’s out, Kate Perry, Rhianna while cruising in her Land Rover LR3 . Linda is a big fan of finding time to get her workouts in at The Bar Method right here in Summit. Favorite season to shop, Fall. Loves to wear Vince, Ella Moss, J Brand and Michael Stars. Can eat Sushi or Mexican any night of the week and its even better when there’s time for a Mojito. “I’m a little bit of a shoes addict. I think my 2 year old daughter may be following in my footsteps. She is starting to acquire her own little shoe collection.” Linda is always on the go with being a mom of three, her days are jam packed especially with sports. “I like to be comfy casual for my sons baseball games. Janice just finished a French class and recently came back from London. ‘My one son lives in Hoboken and we love going in on a Saturday night – ketel one gimlets at Anthony David! Dressed in my skinny jeans and a Choo pump, maybe Tucker on top. My other son is surfing and studying Spanish in Costa Rica while my daughter is in Rome. My daughter is moving this summer to Manhatten while attending Fordham for her graduate degree.’ ‘My style is classic. Chic behind the scene. Even though Alyson hides out in our back room, she is a huge piece to our puzzle at Willow St. She manages all of our inventory. You know how we always tell our customers “we get new boxes in everyday of new things”, well that’s all thanks to her. She has been with Willow St. for 3 years now and counting. “I would consider myself Hippie Chic.
