Your Fashion Questions Answered

Pick our brain!!  We answered some of the most common fashion questions asked by our customers.

Q.  I love the comfort of flip flops but feel like they look too youthful.  Any suggestions for a comfy alternative? ~Susan, Florham Park

A. We love the Jacky sandal from Calvin Klein.  First and foremost, they are only $58 and they are ultra comfortable with a chic and modern feel.

Q.  I’m tired of just wearing my blouses for work.  How can I make them look more modern? ~Kim, Flemington

A. We love to tuck a blouse into a wide leg jean.  Layer a Michael Stars lacy racerback tank underneath and add a skinny belt.  Throw on a chunky statement necklace.

Q.  I know citrus colors are a big trend right now.  Unfortunately, these colors don’t work with my skin tone.  How can I embrace this bright trend in a subtle way? ~Jessica, Chatham

A. Accessories!  Try throwing on a bright and bold statement necklace.  We are crazy for the hot new designer Coralia Leets.  Check out her lemon quartz pendant necklace.

Things to Come-Spring 2011 Trend Report

While there is still snow on the ground, we are already getting Spring/Summer 2011 trend reports from WillowSt.com’s owner and buyer, Lezli Salz-Bradley.  Keep your eyes peeled, Lezli is always on the call of “fashion & trend” duty and her mission of buying for Spring/Summer has already hit the fan. No need to panic, we just want to get your feet wet with a little taste of what’s on her radar.  WillowSt.com is always here to give you inside fashion tips and trend alerts first.

Long skirts and maxis are back in a big way – solid, print, lace, and patchwork. “I’m seeing a lot of long flowy dresses again, so feminine and figure flattering”  Lezli

Have you ever seen the sitcom ‘That ’70s Show’? Flare/bell bottom jeans and pants are raging!  Lezli saw this as a major trend in Paris last May!  “I have this coming in from a slightly distressed jean to white and tan trousers.” This is going to be your ‘I’m too sexy for ‘ evening look this spring.  She loves it with a wedge!

Nautical stripes in all colors and stripes are a bright and cheerful boost after all the black and grey from winter.  These pieces can look great now layered with your winter garb.

Soft, flowy sweaters with an open weave and/or crochet, and ponchos are making their way back on the scene.

A strong trend now that will carry over to Spring/Summer are printed flowy blouses, we love them sheer and feminine; tucked in or out.

Beaded anything from a blouse to a tank is going to be everywhere.  Think bohemian chic.

Fruit Punch Colors: Get your Maui Jims ready for some hot colors.  Cherry Reds, Citrus Oranges, Grape Tones.

Two Fors: Tube tops that can be worn as a top or skirt.  Maxi skirts that can also be worn as a dress. Reversible pieces.  Bang for your buck baby!

Let the countdown begin and let the snow melt away!  I’m ready to buy one of everything on this Spring 2011 Trend report.
