Last year we couldn’t keep up our Echo Touch gloves in stock. This year we’re getting a head start by putting these hot selling touch gloves in our pre-sale section. Quantities are limited so we recommend pre-ordering your favorite styles sooner than later. Yes, it is 1:30 a.m. and I’ve been surfing YouTube to find you some cool, fresh music that may not be on your iPod. Check out ‘The Black Keys’, an American blues-rock band from Ohio. They’ve been around since 2001, but this is the first I’m hearing them, you? Not to change the subject, however I did mention the words ‘cool’ and ‘fresh’. Faux leather is essentially fake leather. Instead of being made of animal skins, these fabrics replicate the look of leather. There are many names under which faux leather may be called, pleather being one. Many reasons exist why people want faux leather or faux furs. It is usually cheaper. Some consumers avoid leather or fur for ethical reasons, as might vegans or vegetarians. Today, many love faux fur as a popular alternative to real fur. Some faux fur representations are so like the appearance of real fur that it can be hard to even tell the difference. The number of people buying real fur has steadily declined. Major designers are often pressured by organizations like People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA), to switch to faux fur instead and feel PETA has valid points. Tips – How to tell the difference between faux and the real deal. These days designer bags can be found just about anywhere, especially from the street vendors in NYC. Always check the edging of the cut leather inside the bag. Real leather has a rough look while faux leather looks or even feels like foam or plastic. Leather has a silky smooth feel and is consistent all over. Fake leather will be artificially smooth and have an inconsistent feel. Smell the product, faux usually won’t have any smell at all. Check out the stitching, sloppy construction and inconsistencies are easy giveaways. Real bags are not lined, but replicas are.

All that made me hungry. Perfect Fall recipe. Bon Appétit! http://tinyurl.com/msnk9e Ingredients for Asparagus Soup: Directions: In a medium pot, bring the stock to a boil. Add the tough woody stems, lower the heat and simmer to infuse with asparagus flavor, 20 to 30 minutes. Remove with a slotted spoon and discard, reserving the stock. Add the decorative tips to the stock and blanch until tender, 1 to 1 1/2 minutes. Remove with a strainer and refresh in an ice water bath. Drain on paper towels and reserve for the garnish. Reserve the stock. In a medium stockpot, melt the butter over medium-high heat. When foamy, add the shallots and leeks and cook until tender, about 3 minutes. Add the garlic and cook until fragrant, about 1 minute. Add the chopped asparagus stalks, salt, and pepper, and cook, stirring, for 2 minutes. Add the reserved broth and simmer until the asparagus are very tender, 15 to 20 minutes. Remove from the heat. With a hand-immersion blender or in batches in a food processor, puree the soup until smooth. Adjust the seasoning, to taste. If serving right away, return to medium heat and add the cream and reserved asparagus tips. Cook, stirring, until the soup is warmed through, about 3 minutes. Alternatively, if serving the soup later, do not add the cream and let cool at room temperature (or in an ice water bath). Cover and refrigerate. Before serving, add the cream and asparagus tips, and warm the soup gently over medium heat, stirring occasionally. To serve, place the soup in a soup tureen and sprinkle with cheese. Ladle into demi-tasse cups or small coffee or tea cups, and serve. Be Safarian. Be Green. Be Lacey Racey.
