The Maxi Movement

Cotton dresses, summer dresses, maxi dresses who cares- just go with it!! It’s a hot look but keeps you cool all at the same time.  You can keep it simple or snazz it up with all kinds of accessories – waist belts, long necklaces, chunky bracelets, tall wedges or bejeweled thongs(think jewelry for your feet).

Designers like Parker, Bailey 44, Velvet by Graham & Spencer and Trina Turk are all on board this maxi dress movement. Keeping it easy, chic and in summer mode.

What’s your street style? I’ll take a solid grey, cotton maxi with a fabric vintage belt and platform heel – ‘WORK IT OUT’ day or night!  This look is enviously comfortable. There is something so alluring about being able to throw on a long summer dress that fees like you’re wearing your favorite pair of yoga pants.  Talk about a girls best friend.

Buy the look: MAXI Parker Dress, $288. OMBRE HAT Michael Stars, $58. NECKLACE Lionette Tulum, $182 & Lionette Senegal, $207. BRACELETS Dogeared Goddess, $72. HANDBAG Big Buddha Sara Crossbody, $80.

Thank you to Linda & Caroline our lovely Willow St. Stylists for demonstrating how to wear the maxi.  You look fab!  Like their style?  Visit them in store or call us at 888-575-3334 for a one on one personal styling experience.

The Dress Princess

Janice and her dress fetish.  She definitely has the body for it!  Always staying active and on the go.  Married and three kids later, Janice has always been into Fashion. Starting out at Macy’s, studying art history, and now coming up on her 8th year at Willow St.

Some things our customers may not know about Janice…

Her favorite designer is Chanel and Jimmy Choo;  Her favorite fashion magazine is Bazaar;  Favorite Essie color – Eternal Optimist;  Fav NYC’s restaurant, Ecco on Chambers St.!   Reading ‘The Help’.  Loves to listen to Keith Urban and U2.  Janice just finished a French class and recently came back from London.

‘My one son lives in Hoboken and we love going in on a Saturday night – ketel one gimlets at Anthony David!  Dressed in my skinny jeans and a Choo pump, maybe Tucker on top. My other son is surfing and studying Spanish in Costa Rica while my daughter is in Rome.  My daughter is moving this summer to Manhatten while attending Fordham for her graduate degree.’

‘My style is classic.  Subtly sexy for night and trendy during the day.’  When I asked Janice who her favorite Willow St. designer is she said ‘Trina Turk, Bailey 44, Nanette Lepore, Dresses, Dresses, Dresses!’  Ask Janice how many dresses she has with the tags still on them.  I bet 34?  Stand by and I’ll find out the answer for you, if she dare tells!

Janice knows her customer and can relate to that mom with kids off at college.
