Is it the revolutionary laundry technique? Honestly I don’t care what it is, as long as I look like a 10 and feel like a 10!!  Blinded by the bright – from the runway to Summit NJ, the colored trend is explosive. Lezli Salz-Bradley, buyer and owner, has been following this trend for quite some time. She finally feels her customer is comfortable to step up their denim a notch. With Fall approaching our customers cravings for colored items are in demand. Wow your closet by throwing a splash of color into the mix of your fall/winter blues. That question, (and an article that we found in the LA Times) got us thinking. Denim as a fabric, was created for the working class due to its versatility, durability and inexpensiveness. Why are we paying a premium for such a product? Fast forward to 2011 and denim is coveted for very different reasons. We still love it for its versatility, I mean it does go with everything, but today we are all about the design of it as well as the uniqueness of the fabric. After we did our research we found out that multi-million dollar companies like Gap and Ralph Lauren devote entire teams of designers to their denim lines, while other denim specific companies like Mother Denim and J Brand focus on this mainstay to start and drive their successful businesses. This focus may be the main reason why designer denim is so expensive, so next time you wonder why that price tag on your favorite new jeans is a little higher, look at the details and the design of the jean and most importantly the fit of the jean and know that a team of people worked very hard to make that jean what it is.
