Even though not everyone likes to admit it….we all do. We here at Willow St., are no exception; In fact, at the moment, we are (as are Julia Roberts, Giselle Bundchen and Twilight’s Ashley Greene) completely obsessed with the Chan Luu wrap bracelets. Like our favorite celebs, we like to layer them, mix and match them or wear them as long necklaces. Crafted from leather cord and any mx of gold dipped nuggets or semi-precious stones, these cool trinkets have just a hint of bohemian but with a richness that takes away anything immature about them. Check out Lady Gaga layering her white leather for the perfect way to wear this trend!  Is she a purposeful style icon or an accidental fashionista? Either way we cannot get enough of Princess Kate Middleton’s laid back yet completely put together style. She always manages to pair the right things together to look classic but while also looking completely on trend. If we didn’t love her so much, we would hate her.

Inspired by the June issue of Italian Vogue and sexy celebs like Kim K. and J. Lo, we here at Willow St. started to think and talk about our favorite curvy customers and how they dress to best accentuate their coveted hourglass shapes. We came up with a few of our curvy dressing rules to live by and have compiled them here for all of you.  J. Lo 1. Buy clothes that fit…especially jeans – when your clothes fit it shows off your curves as opposed to adding bulk with extra fabric. Try a jean with a higher waist like the Hutton or Amber styles by Citizens of Humanity. These styles not only have a higher waist, but also feature a boot cut leg for a well proportioned look. 2. Show off your waist – whether you belt it or add a short cardigan, it is so flattering to a curvy girl to highlight the smallest
4. Heels, heels, heels – As obvious as this one seems, we thought high heels needed to be mentioned because we all agreed that it the easiest way to accentuate any woman’s shape curvy or otherwise. Heels not only lengthen the legs, but also add a certain confidence that makes us stand up just a little bit taller. Whether it is a wedge or platform, strappy or stiletto heels make any outfit better and any woman look sexier. 5. Accessories – A well placed scarf or long necklace can not only divert attention from problem areas, but can also change the look of an outfit completely. Try a beautiful scarf from Chan Luu with a simple white tank and a well fit pair of khakis from G1 to add some interest and maybe hide an area that you don’t want to show off. While high end designers like Michael Kors and Derek Lam have been teasing us with wide leg styles for a few seasons now, the trickle-down effect has finally done its job and we are seeing this sexy yet beautifully forgiving style at a more accessible level. Celebs like E! News’ Giuliana Rancic, seen here in her favorite style, are tweeting the praises of styles by DL 1961 like the “Melissa Jean” while we have been loving similar looks by designers like Mother Denim, Hudson and J. Brand. Whether they are a trouser style or a classic five pocket fit, they are new and they are about to be everywhere. For summer, this style is a must have for all of us here at Willow, with a pair of platform wedges and a blousey tank tucked into them. Even more exciting, is that this style is coming with us into fall as well so with a few tweaks, i.e. a pair of high heel boots and a fitted long sleeve top, you have a very early jump on your fall wardrobe. Don’t you just love when fashion falls into place!!
This season we are loving..loving…LOVING the “Wilder” style that pairs Mother’s signature soft denim with a right on trend light distressed wash. Pair this jean with a flowy top or a crochet tank and a platform sandal for a look that is the essence of the season’s boho comeback. Seen on celebrities and every day people alike, his trend is picking up some major steam. Add a few pieces to your summer style and make the look yours.
We don’t want to brag, BUT… yes we were mentioned in People Style Watch for the fabulous LinQ Dawn Dress (shown above). Its nice to see some color this time a year. This is an all season kinda dress.. Pumps, a wedge, cardi, tights – it all works. Emmy Rossum thinks so too (wearing the LinQ Dawn Dress). Meet Chan Luu
Everyone is crazy over Chan Luu wrap bracelets. Can’t wear too many at one time. The wrap can be worn as a necklace, bracelet or around your waist.
