Seen on everyone from Kate Bosworth to Heidi Klum, this fall is all about the bootie! All you summer-lovers now hear this!…the fall is coming whether we like it or not so we might as well embrace what it has to offer. In other words, let’s enjoy all the fall offerings even though the idea of putting on a pair of booties might seem a little pre-mature. This season we love the grey cracked suede booties from Matt Bernson

Similar styles are all over celebrities who are wearing them now with everything from a sundress or shorts to skinny colored jeans or leggings. Our version is in our pre-sale section now, expected in-store on 7/30 and is only $228 as compared to the version that the celebs are wearing which retails for more than double at $580. Don’t you just love a bargain…we definitely do since every one of us ordered a pair of these. We also love this style with another one of our fall obsessions, the skinny micro-flare. All of us here at Willow St. have these on order as well and will be wearing them with the booties.

Check out our side by side pics of the Matt Bernson bootie with its more expensive fraternal twin…while we will admit to spending money on fashion when it is necessary, in this case we think it’s a definite save! You be the judge……

Lezli is always keeping the store fresh, not only with merchandise, but her events she plans as well.  She always has something fun going on at her events: a raffle, a giveaway, a discount, or in this case a special appearance from the designer himself.  (Join our mailing list to always be ‘in the know’ of in-store/online events!)

Michael Ciccia (photographed above) is the owner and designer of Cordani.  He loves working with boutiques like Willow St.  I think our customers really appreciated him coming to the trunk show and being hands on with them, giving professional advice.  We asked Michael what he likes most about what he does?  He said “connecting with the end customer.”  We had 2 customers come in that day for the trunk show with their Cordani’s on that they had purchased years ago.  The shoes still looked chic and polished!  They said they love the line, they are so comfy and the quality is outstanding.  When we asked Michael to describe Cordani’s style, he said “comfort with style.” The whole idea for him was to create a collection of shoes that are fashionable yet comfortable enough to walk, work and play in.  This reaffirmed exactly what our customers had described from their experience.  Every single Willow St. employee bought at least 1 pair.  A few of them, not to mention any names, (Shanna) bought a few more than that.  We are hooked.  We are on our feet constantly, giving our customers 100% of our undivided attention, so what better shoe to wear than Cordani – classic and comfortable.

The name Cordani hails from Michael’s Italian background . “My last name is impossible for Americans to pronounce, Ciccia, so I used my mother’s maiden name for the brand, Cordani” Michael said.  Italian + leather = the formula for the perfect shoe.

We asked Michael a ton of random questions we thought our customers might like to know: He’s a dad of 2, lives outside of Boston, favorite jeans – “True Religion”, favorite vacation spot – “St. Bart’s“, number 1 drink – “Mojito“.

Shhh – Cordani’s Spring/Summer inspiration is Espadrille, French Riviera.  NO WORRIES, we will have stock before ya know it.

What’s your fashion fix?

Gina said: ” I shop for shoes when I’m down and out.  Somehow it satisfies my urge to splurge.  That’s also how I get my cardio in, shopping.  Shoe shopping is a work out in itself.”

Janice said: “When I need a little pick me up I’ll head to a boutique for some ‘Retail Therapy’.  I need immediate gratification and I have to wear whatever I buy that same day.”

Kristen said: “I’m an impulse shopper when I feel down in the dumps.  I sit on the computer for hours and if I like it, I buy it.  I don’t feel bad about it either.  I just keep telling myself I worked hard this week and deserve presents.”
